A Quick Pause for PAWS – February 2012
By Sandy Franz
PAWS FIRST Mobile Clinic was held in Matapalo on December 11, and was a success; spaying or neutering 18 animals. Even a tropical rainstorm could not stop the group from completing the job. There was also an over abundance of help from the community of “Tortuga Saviors”, who assisted with the tent, when it failed and our thanks go out to them. Neither Dr. Martinez, nor the dog on the table, was effected when the water came pouring in. All was quickly moved to a drier location. PAWS would like to thank the Feliz Langosta Restaurante for graciously donating and serving lunch to the work bunch of 12 people, who tremendously enjoyed the arroz con camarones.
ATTENTION! PAWS’ ANNUAL FUNDRAISER is on the drawing board and being talked about, once again. Last year was so much fun and so successful, we are doing it again. So, the vendors who supported PAWS last year will be contacted, again, along with other new businesses and local people. Everyone, please be on the look-out for the PAWS’ girls, who will contact you soon!
FEBRUARY CASTRATION CLINIC will be held at the office of Dr. Martinez on February 19, in Quepos. For scheduling ease, PAWS would like for interested parties to call for an appointment for that day.
