What’s Shaking at Marina Pez Vela? – September & October 2016

New Docks, new shops, new faces, more boats, and a few of the world’s largest mammals coming to visit are just a few items which are new around Marina Pez Vela. While the green season might mean a few less tourists in town, it is one of the busiest times for our local operations here at the marina and are months when our focus continues to grow on our local community, local and national celebrations and providing a world class space for locals to enjoy as the project continues to transform itself and our community. Here are some of the key news items for the project and we hope all of you will come out to spend time, support the new stores and enjoy this magnificent setting.

New Additions to our Plaza

We are very excited to announce that our main commercial plaza is now fully occupied with our final stores having just opened or getting ready to open as this publication hits the streets.  We are proud to announce and welcome Pluma del Mar, a unique tropical clothing store with fantastic, high quality designer styles at great prices, is now open for business.  We are also very proud to announce that Mademoiselle, the marina’s full service salon is also now opening its doors for business.  The salon will offer world class make up, hair, manicures and pedicures and is idea for anyone needing care for special events or just wanting to pamper themselves or their spouses.

Upcoming Events

September and October each have some very special events for the Marina and our community which we hope will become ongoing parts not only of the Marina but of the Quepos/Manuel Antonio community in general.  September 15, Costa Rica’s Independence Day is such a special time where local schools, communities and families celebrate the pride which is such intrinsic to this nation and its wonderful people.  The Marina has always looked to compliment and support the civic activities and traditions which our local Municipality and schools coordinate on these events.  On the days prior to the 15th, we will have some typical dance performance as well as some Farole parades in the marina to get everyone into the independence day spirit, so whether you are a local looking to extend the celebrations or tourist looking to learn a bit more about the culture and history come by the marina the weekend and days prior to the 15 to get your taste of some of the sights, sounds and colors of this amazing celebration.

Halloween / Dia de las Masqueradas

Marina Pez Vela’s first Halloween/ Dia de las masquerades was an ENORMOUS success and this year we plan on expanding both the event, the amount of trick or treating options and fun for the entire family.  Mark your calendars for October 31st, come by for a happy hour here and get those creative juices flowing as we will have lots of activities, costume contests, haunted house and more.  Join us in the family friendly celebration which combines the US traditions of Halloween with the Costa Rica Dia de las Masqueradas.

Gastronomic and “where do I eat”

Anyone who has lived here through September and October has dealt with the rainy night realization that many of the restaurants in Manuel Antonio are CLOSED during the months of September and October.  We want to let everyone know that all of our restaurants here at the project are going to be open all of September and October.  Come down and enjoy the covered parking, easy access and choose from one of our 7 dining options  The Runaway Grill, Mercato del Porto, Gabriellas, Z Gastro Bar, Sunrice, Falafel Bar and Gelateria Amorosi.

Marina Pez Vela Villas

We are proud to announce that our first 10 villas on the project are complete and available for rent.  These 2 and 3 bedroom villas are ideal for when you have friends, clients our family in town and we have great local and low season rates in affect now so even if you are looking for a little vacation without having to leave town, a night or two at the marina, enjoying the roof top pool, dining options and setting is a great gift for someone you love.
