What’s Shaking at Marina Pez Vela? – December 2017
The cooling rains subside, the warm breezes and magical sunsets of the Costa Rica summer season begin lightingup the evening skies, we get ready for what is likely to be a record setting season here in Costa Rica and especially at Marina Pez Vela! We are incredibly excited to share some of the events we have planned for the coming months, many of which are community celebrations which have become part of our culture here at Marina Pez Vela. Given some of the obstacles and heart-warming manner in which our families and community responded during this past rainy season, we hope that Marina Pez Vela can continue to support this wonderful area and to create public spaces where we can all share and celebrate the beauty of this region, the spectacular ocean which embraces the project and the families who make this area so special.
Friday Night Outdoor Movie Nights are back!
Out with the rain, IN WITH FRIDAY NIGHT FREE MOVIES UNDER THE STARS AT MPV. This has become one of our favorite dry season traditions. Families, tourists, anglers all relaxing under the stars, enjoying all the restaurants, shops and services here at the project and free outdoor movies on the GIANT inflatable screen, every Friday at 7 pm.
Pelagic ROCK STAR Fishing Tournament
The first tournament of the year is the one and only PELAGIC ROCKSTAR, Jan 11 – 13! This is a fishing tournament which is high on fun, low on rules and is a GREAT opportunity for anyone who wants to be a part of a tournament to get a taste of just how much fun it can be. Nightly rock bands, dock socials, and prizes for all kinds of different species. Contact the team at iFish Quepos for information on charters or how you can get your team inscribed. Remember you do NOT have to be a professional or experienced angler to enter and have a blast!
BRIGHT LIGHTS 2017
MARINA PEZ VELA’S ANNUAL BRIGHT LIGHTS PARADE has become an iconic kick off to the area’s holiday season and a very special opportunity for our community to share in the magic of the season and the project. This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever and we expect record setting turnout and a magical WEEKEND of activities:
Saturday, December 9th is the BRIGHT LIGHTS BOAT PARADE
5:00 pm: Big Band of Costa Rica kicks off the party with their vibrant sounds and energizing selection of music to start the evening.
6:30 pm: Cirko Vivo, a live Circus act returns to dazzle the audience of all ages.
7:00pm – 8:00pm: Illuminated Boat Parade
8:00pm: Closing Fireworks Display
PLEASE NOTE that there will be LIMITED SPACE at the event and it will be important to come early or take advantage of the preferential reserved seating or restaurant promotions which will be announced. For the SAFETY of all attending, we have to and will limit the total attendance.
PLEASE have minors accompanied by adults for their safety and supervision to insure everyone can enjoy the event.
ENTRY will be with BRACELET only which will be given out Saturday, December 9th at the Marina for general entry to the event to insure we have a safe and enjoyable setting.
RESERVED SEATING in the main seating areas will be available for purchase for $30. GENERAL ENTRY IS FREE, but there are some reserved seats being offered with a prime view of all the event.
SUNDAY, December 10th: BRIGHT LIGHTS THEATRE SHOW
We are extending the activities to two nights this year and on Sunday we will have a live theatre performance.
7:00pm, Una Navidad para Recordar will be presented on the main stage.Entrance is free and it will be a wonderful evening for the families here to welcome in the Christmas Spirit.
