Titi Conservation Alliance

Titi Conservation Alliance – January 2018

Titi Conservation Alliance small logoFeliz Año Nuevo!

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported The Titi Conservation Alliance Annual Online Auction in early December 2017. We were so fortunate to have many generous donors and buyers and truly appreciate the support. Proceeds from the auction will be earmarked to strengthen our Environmental Education program that has provided free environmental education to 4th and 5th graders in our area since 2003.

Highlights 2017

The Alliance once again planted close to 3,000 trees in 2017, although some plantings were lost to flooding from Tropical Storm Nate. We are very grateful to the local area landowners who participated with us in 2017-Marcia Bennet, the Gamboa family in Tocori, Palma Tica, the Barahona family and Leo from H2O. If you are interested in planting trees on your property with the help of TCA, just give us a call to schedule a visit with Ing.Juan Pablo Aguero, our forestry engineer.

Titi Conservation Alliance welcomed several new members this year, as Hotel La Posada, Hotel Byblos, Vida Realty and Manuel Antonio Vacation Rentals became official members. We urge you to support their businesses and those of our other members as well. The Alliance also continued to build its alliances with several other companies and patrons including Banco Promerica, Elmwood Park Zoo, Schneider Electric and Best Adventure Travel.

We especially would like to thank our members who participate in the Common Cents program, which allows visitors to donate a dollar per night of their stay. A big Thank You to The Falls Resort, Hotel Si Como No, Hotel La Mariposa, Hotel Parador and Los Altos Resort for supporting this great program.

Moving Forward in 2018!

We look forward to building on the progress made this year, with our focus on improving our environmental education programs and volunteer opportunities in 2018. These programs will not only continue to reach school children in our rural area, but also to young adults and the employees of our participating members. If you would like to participate in any of our programs, we would love to welcome you as members of the Alliance this year. Be sure to check out our website at www.monotiti.org for more information.

We wish you a prosperous and rewarding 2018!
