OFFSHORE FISHING

We have enjoyed some fantastic Sailfish fishing so far this year in what has been one of the most consistent Sailfish bites in recent years. Many of the Quepos charter boats posting the double-digit Sailfish release days that Costa Rica has been famous for over the years with Anglers visiting from all around the world to enjoy this incredible fishing. 16 Sailfish was my best Sailfish day during March and another day we released 14 Sailfish & a Blue Marlin, pretty spectacular fishing by anyone’s standards!

The Yellow Fin Tuna bite has been nothing short of EPIC also with some SUPER SIZED Yellow Fin’s making an appearance during March. Our best Tuna of the month was around 130lbs and we caught others of 100lbs, 80lbs and many others in the 30-60lb range. Dorado numbers have slowed up during the height of our dry season and when water temperatures are at there warmest, however, there are still a few large Bull Dorados to be caught along with some Wahoo which have been around for the past couple of months.

There have been a few Blue and Striped Marlin out deep and some big Black Marlin over the Offshore Reefs which can be targeted with livebaits. We are looking forward to what the April fishing has in store for our two tournaments, the Marina Pez Vela Open and the big one, the Offshore World Championships, tight lines and best of luck to all!
