Fishing Report – March 2012
Quepos Costa Rica! There is no other place for fishing PERIOD! The month of February was some fantastic fishing. Los Suenos held the first leg of the signature series at the end of January and a record breaking amount of sailfish and marlin were caught. A whopping 613 sailfish and 11 marlin were caught in a three day period. The fishing frenzy area is in the waters of Quepos!
Our own fleet of charter boats have been putting up incredible numbers of fish for the month. The number of sailfish caught this month exceeded over one thousand fish. Some big blue marlins have been caught with weights over 500 lbs. a piece. Dorado have had the taste of Pura Vida, taking it easy and on vacation. They are around however. Tuna have been run out far and are very few.
The inshore fishing is smoking as well. Big schools of mackerel, corbena, red snapper, amberjack have been hitting hard. One of my favorites the roosterfish has also been doing very well.
At Tropical Waters Sport Fishing we believe in and support “Catch and Release” to preserve and to save our billfish population for generations to come.
