Fishing Report – February 2012

One word to describe the fishing for the month of January HOT! HOT! HOT!  Sailfish are coming out of the woodwork!  Double and triples are being caught at the same time.  Marlin have been breaking records.  The Dorado have been much better this year compared to last year’s numbers.  Where the tuna are running big numbers are being caught.

Inshore fishing is a real plus.  Since the rains are gone and the waters have cleared up inshore fishing has been great!  Rooster, Red Snapper, Snook, Mackerel all have been hitting.

Follow up on fishing licenses:  Licenses for monthly are now $15.00 until April 2012 and yearly licenses are now $30.00 dollars for nonresidents. The word is: Once April comes there will no longer be monthly licenses.

At Tropical Waters Sport Fishing we believe and support “catch & release”, to preserve and to save our billfish population for generations to come.
