A New Paradigm of Healing

By Luke DeStefano, Healing Arts Practitioner at Posada Natura.

Every human has a body. Every body has a story. Embedded deep within our physical being are the memories of all our past experiences. The body is a living library, silently recording every step of our life’s journey, all the pleasure and pain, somewhere within its immense labyrinth of cellular memory. As pioneers of the modern age, many of us experience some kind of physical or emotional pain on a daily basis. The paradigm of healing we’ve accepted for centuries has us turning to outside authorities that we believe hold the key to our well being but we are only offered a quick fix for the symptom—not the root cause. The problem persists and we being to feel powerless because we are looking outside ourselves for the answers while key to our healing lay within us.

It’s time to abandon this unsustainable model and create a new paradigm of healing. At Posada Natura, we offer unparalleled healing experiences with the clear intention of awakening the healer within. Not because you’ve worked hard to deserve it, but because we know that when you are feeling your best you will begin to make positive choices that will transform your life. When you are empowered to transform your life, you will positively influence those around you. It is from this place, this new paradigm, that we can truly change the world.

We, the staff of Posada Natura, have created a comprehensive full-day program of self-empowering therapies set in our lush Forest Garden, a place where you can truly feel the healing embrace of Mother Nature. The gentle song of the Naranjo River enhances your experience as we combine ancient healing arts, lovingly crafted spa treatments, and deeply nourishing foods and medicines from our land. As some of our treatments may be unfamiliar in the West, I am happy to offer a brief explanation here:

Shirodhara

This treatment comes from Ayurveda (a 5,000 year old system of healing from India), which involves gently pouring oil over the forehead for about 20 minutes. This process stimulates the trigeminal nerve (the largest cranial nerve in the body) and the Ajna chakra, or 3rd eye, effectively awakening the senses and the mind. Aside from being deeply relaxing, has been also used to treat a variety of conditions including memory loss, insomnia, tinnitus, vertigo, eye diseases, sinusitis and others.

Thai Yoga Bodywork

This unique style of bodywork has been practiced for over 2,000 years (since the time of the Buddha) and is considered more of a sacred healing art than just a massage. Rooted in the core principals of Yoga and Buddhism, this sacred practice is aimed towards both spiritual and physical healing. Meditative moments and compassionate intentions are combined with gentle muscular stretching and pressure that is slow, deep, and very precise.

Reflexology

A very therapeutic foot massage performed by stimulating different pressure and reflex points on the foot that have beneficial effects to corresponding internal organs, glands, as well as the skeletal and nervous system.
